The idea of creating SOBO originated with three Army veterans in early 2016. They were all “hard chargers” as those familiar with military service would say. All three veterans were coming from combat arms specialties and there was plenty for them to learn. Not only about running a business, but also learning about the ever-changing telecommunication industry. Products, services, and capabilities are always improving and evolving in this industry so they found out quite literally, the hard way, that SOBO would require an immense amount of time, effort, and understanding to fully develop the company into their original vision. What was their original vision? Well, that part was easy. The idea was to create a company that truly cared about its customers and its employees. Everyone knows what it feels like to be treated like they’re just a number. These three veterans wanted to ensure that SOBO would never conduct its business in that manner. Of course, they also wanted to be successful and profit from the business, but it was more important to approach accomplishing their vision with a “people first” mentality.
SOBO stands for Southbound in the telecom realm, but we won’t bore you with the details. Most of our customers refer to us as "SOBO" and we’ve joined in on the trend. SOBO Telecom LLC is currently owned and operated by one of its original founders, Charles Raines, and has a physical office located in Littleton, Colorado.
Today, technology is vast and growing at a high rate of speed. SOBO is constantly adapting and evolving to provide quality services and the newest products to its customers. Whether it’s a large corporation or an individual homeowner, we believe that all customers should be treated like people. That’s why we are constantly working towards our “people first” belief in everything we do. It’s our mission to provide our services with the customer in mind. We don’t want to leave any customer dissatisfied so we will put in the effort to earn your business and keep your business.
SOBO started out as a structured cabling company, providing services such as installing low voltage wiring in Single Family Units (SFU) and Multi Dwelling Units (MDU). The company then evolved into providing installation, activation, and testing services on Gigabyte Passive Optical Network (GPON). As the company sought out new customers, opportunities came to work on other types of communication networks. The company evolved again to provide services on Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial Cable (HFC) networks. Different types of networks require different types of equipment, and we love learning about new products, equipment, devices, and enhancements in overall network capabilities. If you are looking for a partner to work with on your network, please reach out to us. We’d love to hear about your network, vision, and long-term goals for your project.
We are happy to provide a wide range of services to our customers. Whether it’s Outside Plant Construction (OSP) or Inside Plant Construction (ISP). We use EXFO products for testing and certification so delivering your final acceptance test package is a consumer-friendly process. When it comes to fiber optic splicing and termination performed on your network, we use AFL products to ensure quality terminations and can offer detailed documentation of each splice conducted should your project require it. Our technicians at SOBO utilize a shared drive to capture pictures before and after work has been completed. We can share this information with our customers so that they can monitor production and quality in real time. We are both flexible and adaptable when working with your company’s internal systems and processes such as using software like SupplyPro or GIS. We will work with your specific needs and conduct any “in-house training” required to synchronize your procedures with our own.
We love what we do, and we want to work with you on your project. Whether it’s ongoing or upcoming, please do not hesitate to reach out and have a conversation with us. We hope to hear from you soon!
